Amazon Egypt Seller Fees (2026): Tiers That Run Both Ways
By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated August 2026
Amazon Egypt currently waives the professional subscription, which makes it cheap to start on. What makes it worth studying is the fee table: some categories charge a lower percentage as the price rises, and others charge more. Getting that direction wrong on your own category is an expensive mistake. Here are the 2026 numbers.
The subscription is waived — for now
Amazon.eg is offering professional accounts with no monthly subscription fee, described on its own pricing page as a limited-time arrangement.
That is a real advantage for testing demand without a fixed cost. It is also, as with Amazon UAE, a promotion rather than a price — model your unit economics with a subscription line so your pricing does not have to move when it ends.
Referral fees run 4% to 19%, with a 5 EGP floor
The referral fee is a percentage of the total the customer pays, with a minimum of 5 EGP on most categories. The range across categories is one of the widest of any Amazon marketplace.
Read the tier direction carefully — it is not consistent between categories:
| Category | Referral fee |
|---|---|
| Grocery ≤ 250 EGP | 4% |
| Grocery > 250 EGP | 10% |
| Books | 7% |
| Apparel | 12% |
| Electronics accessories ≤ 1,000 EGP | 15% |
| Electronics accessories > 1,000 EGP | 8% |
| Jewelry ≤ 5,000 EGP | 19% |
| Jewelry > 5,000 EGP | 5% |
| Minimum referral fee | 5 EGP |
Some categories get cheaper as you go up, others dearer
Electronics accessories and jewelry are priced so that the high band is the cheap one: 15% below 1,000 EGP and 8% above it; 19% below 5,000 EGP and 5% above.
Grocery runs the opposite way — 4% below 250 EGP and 10% above.
The consequence is concrete. A 6,000 EGP piece of jewelry pays 5% on the amount above the threshold rather than 19% throughout, while a 300 EGP grocery order pays more than twice the rate a 200 EGP one does. Check which direction your own category runs before setting prices near a threshold.
| Sale | Category | Referral fee | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200 EGP | Grocery | 8 EGP | 4% |
| 300 EGP | Grocery | 30 EGP | 10% |
| 900 EGP | Electronics accessories | 135 EGP | 15% |
| 1,200 EGP | Electronics accessories | 96 EGP | 8% |
Fulfilment and the 5 EGP floor
Amazon's fulfilment fee starts at 15.5 EGP per unit depending on size and weight. On a cheap item that is often larger than the referral fee itself — which is the argument against putting low-value goods into fulfilment anywhere, not only in Egypt.
The 5 EGP minimum referral fee has the same shape: on a 30 EGP book, 7% would be 2.10 EGP, so the floor applies instead and the effective rate is 16.7%.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Amazon Egypt take per sale?
A referral fee of 4% to 19% depending on category and price band, with a minimum of 5 EGP. Books are 7%, apparel 12%, grocery 4% up to 250 EGP and 10% above, and jewelry 19% up to 5,000 EGP and 5% above.
Is there a monthly fee to sell on Amazon Egypt?
Amazon.eg currently offers professional accounts with no monthly subscription as a limited-time arrangement. Because it is a promotion, it is safer to model margins as though a subscription applies.
Why did my Amazon Egypt referral fee go down on a more expensive item?
Some categories are tiered so the higher band is cheaper. Electronics accessories are 15% up to 1,000 EGP and 8% above; jewelry is 19% up to 5,000 EGP and 5% above. Grocery runs the other way, at 4% up to 250 EGP and 10% above.
How much does Amazon fulfilment cost in Egypt?
From 15.5 EGP per unit depending on size and weight. On low-value items that fee can exceed the referral fee, which is the main argument against fulfilling cheap goods through Amazon.
