Amazon.sa Seller Fees (2026): The Saudi Marketplace Math
By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated May 2026
Amazon Saudi Arabia (amazon.sa) is the fastest-growing major marketplace in the region, and its fee structure mirrors amazon.com — with two regional differences: 15% Saudi VAT on every fee, and a fee update that took effect 1 August 2025 raising rates in 18 categories. Here is the real 2026 picture for KSA sellers.
Referral fees by category: 5%–15%
Like other Amazon marketplaces, amazon.sa charges a referral fee on each sale calculated as a percentage of the total price (item + shipping + gift wrap) or a minimum amount, whichever is greater. The range spans 5% to 15% by category, with most categories at 8–15%.
Examples (post-August 2025 update): Beauty 15%, Home & Kitchen 15%, Consumer Electronics 8%, Books 15%, Jewelry 20%, Mobile Phones 8%. Check the official Amazon Seller Central fee schedule for your exact category before pricing.
The August 2025 fee update
On 1 August 2025, Amazon raised referral fees in 18 product categories on amazon.sa — including Beauty, Home, and Video Games. Some categories went up by 1–2 percentage points; sellers who had not updated their pricing since mid-2025 are now paying more than they realise.
Check your category against the current fee schedule. The increase often crosses a price tier (e.g., the new rate kicks in above SAR 100), so the impact varies by your average order value.
FBA — Fulfilment by Amazon
Amazon.sa offers FBA across the Kingdom: storage, picking, packing, shipping, and customer service handled by Amazon. Fees vary by item size and weight tier, in SAR.
FBA is typically worth it for sellers shipping more than ~50 units a month — Amazon's per-unit fulfilment cost is hard to beat at small scale unless you have your own logistics.
15% Saudi VAT on Amazon fees
Saudi VAT (15% since July 2020) applies to every Amazon fee billed to KSA sellers: referral, FBA, monthly Professional subscription (SAR 165/month), advertising. A nominal SAR 15 referral fee actually costs you SAR 17.25.
If you are VAT-registered with ZATCA (turnover ≥ SAR 375,000), you reclaim it on your quarterly return. Below that threshold the VAT is a permanent extra cost — and it stacks on top of every Amazon fee.
Subscription and account costs
Professional seller account: SAR 165 / month (SAR 99 / month for the first three months under some promotions). Individual sellers pay SAR 5 per unit sold instead — cheaper below ~33 units/month, much more expensive above it.
Most serious KSA sellers move to Professional after the first month or two. If you also want to sell on amazon.ae (UAE), one Professional subscription covers both via Build International Listings.
Bottom line on a SAR 200 sale (Home category, 15% referral)
Referral fee: SAR 30. Saudi VAT 15% on the fee: SAR 4.50. Total Amazon cost on a single sale: SAR 34.50 — about 17.3% of the gross — before FBA, advertising, your COGS, or the monthly subscription pro-rated per sale.
