Based on standard US eBay final value fees for sellers without a store (13.6% + a $0.30 per-order fee on orders under $10, or $0.40 over $10). Rates vary by category and store subscription. Last updated 2026-05.

How eBay fees work

When you sell on eBay, your main cost is the final value fee — a percentage of the total the buyer pays (item price plus shipping), plus a flat $0.30 per order. For most categories this is 13.25%, and it already includes payment processing, so there is no separate PayPal fee.

This calculator subtracts those fees and your own item and shipping costs, so you see your real net profit instead of just the sale price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does eBay take per sale?+

For most categories eBay charges a final value fee of about 13.25% of the total the buyer pays (item plus shipping), plus a flat $0.30 per order. A few categories have different rates.

Are eBay fees charged on shipping too?+

Yes. The final value fee applies to the full amount the buyer pays, which includes the shipping you charge them — not just the item price.

Does this include PayPal or payment processing fees?+

Yes. eBay now handles payments directly (managed payments), so processing is already bundled into the 13.25% final value fee. There is no separate PayPal fee anymore.

How can I reduce my eBay fees?+

Opening an eBay Store subscription lowers final value fee rates and gives you more free listings. Maintaining Top Rated Seller status can also earn fee discounts.
