Fee changes tracker

Last updated August 2026

Platforms change what they charge sellers more often than anyone publishes. This is every change we have recorded, with the date it took effect and the page we read it on — 10 in effect and 3 already announced for a future date.

We keep this because the alternative is what most of the web does: publish a fee guide once and let it quietly go wrong. Our calculators read from the same database, so when a rate moves here it moves everywhere on the site at once.

2027

AnnouncedStripe · Australia

Lower international card pricing announced

Stripe's Australian pricing page carries a dated note that international card pricing falls from 1 April 2027. The current rate is 3.5% + A$0.30.

Premier Shop commission discount ends

Through 31 October 2026 the Premier Shop 10% commission discount still applies on top of a seller's tier rate (a 5% rate becomes 4.5%). From 1 November commission is set purely by the sales tier; the Premier Shop badge, discoverability and support benefits remain.

AnnouncedStripe · Australia

Lower domestic card pricing announced

Stripe's own pricing page states domestic pricing drops from 1 October 2026. Australian sellers are currently on 1.7% + A$0.30, already one of Stripe's cheaper non-European rates.

Card rates no longer printed on the public pricing page

Shopify's pricing page and help-centre billing overview now say only that Shopify Payments card rates vary by plan and are shown in the admin. The third-party transaction fees remain published (2% Basic, 1% Grow, 0.6% Advanced, 0.2% Plus), and plan prices render differently by country under Shopify's local pricing. The last openly published US online rates were 2.9% + 30¢ (Basic), 2.6% + 30¢ (Grow) and 2.4% + 30¢ (Advanced).

Flat commission replaced by sales-based tiers

Whatnot's flat 8% commission (4% on coins) became a tiered rate card: total sales over each four-week period set a tier, and the tier sets a per-category commission for the next period. In the US the Standard tier (under $15,000) stays at 8%; the lowest public rates are 6.5% for sports and TCG, 4.5% for fashion, 5% for other collectibles, 4% for the Other vertical and 3.5% for coins. Commission is charged on the item price only; payment processing (2.9% + $0.30 in the US) is unchanged and charged on the full order.

StructuralTikTok Shop · United States

The US rate card is no longer published openly

TikTok's current US referral rate card sits behind a Seller Center login. Third-party articles published in 2026 quote 3%, 5%, 8% and 9% as current, none traceable to a TikTok-published source. We show the last openly published rate — 6% for most categories — and say so on the page rather than pick one of the rumours.

Professional subscription currently waived — as a promotion

Both Amazon.ae and Amazon.eg describe the waived monthly subscription as a limited-time arrangement on their own pricing pages. It is a promotion, not a price: unit economics modelled without a subscription line will move when it ends.

In effectAmazon · Mexico

Subscription now scales with the seller's own revenue

Amazon Mexico charges no monthly fee for the first year, then MXN 75 a month for sellers under MXN 26,000 in monthly sales and MXN 600 for those above it. It is the only Amazon marketplace we track whose subscription depends on how much you sell.

In effectMeta · Facebook Marketplace (US)

Selling fee is 10%, not the 5% still widely published

Meta's published selling fee is 10% of the sale price with a $0.80 minimum. A large share of currently ranking guides still list 5% — which understates the cost of every sale by half. We corrected our own database when we found it.

Business rate is 2.6% + $0.15, not 2.75%

Cash App's business transaction fee is 2.6% plus $0.15 per transaction. The older 2.75% flat figure is still repeated across comparison sites and is now wrong in both parts — the percentage and the missing fixed fee.

US fee schedule reissued

PayPal's US merchant fee schedule carries an effective date of 15 July 2026. PayPal Checkout is 3.49% + $0.49 and standard card payments are 2.99% + $0.49, with 1.50% added on international commercial transactions.

Flat commission replaced with a tiered rate

For sales on or after 20 May 2026, Grailed's commission is 6% (minimum $1.99) on sale prices under $120 and 9% at $120 or above, plus payment processing (3.49% + $0.49 for US Stripe-onboarded sellers). Articles still quoting one flat percentage are describing the old model.

In effectDepop · United States and United Kingdom

Boosted Listings fee rises to 12% for new listings

For listings created from 23 March 2026, the optional Boosted Listings fee is 12% of the item price (plus shipping without a Depop label) for US and UK sellers, charged only when the item sells through the boost and on top of payment processing. Sellers elsewhere pay 8%. The base fee for US, UK and Australian sellers remains processing only, with no selling fee.

In effectAmazon · United Kingdom and EU stores

Digital Services Fee now follows the country of sale

Amazon stopped applying one flat Digital Services Fee across Europe and began charging it at the digital services tax rate of the store where the sale happens. A UK-established seller pays 2% on UK sales and 3% on sales in the French, Italian and Spanish stores. The fee is charged on Amazon's own fees — referral and FBA — not on the item price, which is why it is missing from most fee guides.

Minimum Final Value Fee raised from 3.5% to 11%

Bonanza's Final Value Fee on the Final Offer Value (item price plus shipping above $10) became a minimum of 11%, with a $0.50 minimum fee and a $0.25 transaction fee for sellers without a membership. Above $4,000 the portion over $4,000 is charged 1.5%. Advertising levels run 11%–30%. Recorded late: we found it during the September 2026 verification pass and corrected our own calculator.

Rates the internet still gets wrong

These are not changes so much as corrections that never propagated. In each case the provider’s own page says one thing and a large share of currently ranking articles say another. If you are citing any of them, check the date on your source.

Widely published: Bonanza's base fee is 3.5%

Not since 1 May 2025, when Bonanza raised its minimum Final Value Fee to 11% (plus a $0.25 transaction fee for non-members). We carried the 3.5% figure ourselves until September 2026 and corrected it.

Bonanza Help Center — Bonanza Pricing

Widely published: Shopify's Basic plan card rate is 2.9% + 30¢ — it's on the pricing page

It isn't any more. Since at least September 2026 Shopify's public pricing page prints only the third-party transaction fees; card rates are shown inside the admin and can differ by country. 2.9% + 30¢ was the last openly published US Basic rate.

Shopify Help Center — Pricing plans and billing overview

Widely published: Venmo Tap to Pay costs 2.9% + $0.09

Venmo Help — Business Profile Transaction Fees

Widely published: Whatnot charges a flat 8% commission

Not since 21 September 2026. Commission is now tiered by each seller's four-week sales and varies by category — 8% at the Standard tier, down to 4–6.5% at the top public tiers — and is charged on the item price only.

Widely published: Depop takes 10% of every sale

Widely published: Facebook Marketplace charges a 5% selling fee

Meta publishes 10%, with a $0.80 minimum — double the figure still in circulation.

Widely published: Cash App's business rate is a flat 2.75%

It is 2.6% + $0.15 — a lower percentage with a fixed fee that the old figure omits entirely.

Cash App fees

Widely published: PayPal supports domestic payments in India

It does not. PayPal's own India fee page states that only international payments are supported for India users.

PayPal India merchant fees

Widely published: PayPal charges one rate across the eurozone

It charges five. France and Spain are 2.90% + €0.35, Germany 2.99% + €0.39, Italy and the Netherlands 3.40% + €0.35.

PayPal Italy merchant fees

Widely published: Amazon UK takes 15% and that is the whole fee

A Digital Services Fee of 2% is charged on top of Amazon's own fees, making the effective referral cost 15.3% — and 3% of fees on sales in the French, Italian and Spanish stores since 20 March 2026.

How we track this

Every platform in our database carries the URL its rate came from and the date a human last checked it. On the monthly cycle we re-read those pages and compare; anything that moved lands here and in the calculator on the same day. The process, including how we handle corrections, is in our editorial policy.

For the full cross-country picture rather than the changes alone, see the Global Fee Index and fees by country.

Frequently asked questions

How do you find fee changes?

We re-read the official fee page of every platform in our database on a monthly cycle, and immediately when a provider announces something. Changes are caught by comparing what the page says now against the rate stored in our database, which is why they surface here rather than months later.

Can I use this tracker as a source?

Yes, freely and with attribution. Every entry links to the official page or the named trade publication it came from — cite that primary source alongside us. If you need a figure confirmed for a story, email info@profitvana.com.

What does 'announced' mean?

The provider has published a future date for the change but it has not taken effect yet. Rates marked announced are not what you pay today — our calculators use the current rate until the date arrives.

Why do so many published fee figures turn out to be wrong?

Because most fee articles are written once and never revisited, while platforms change pricing regularly. An article from 2023 that still ranks will still be quoting 2023 rates, and other writers copy from it. That is how a superseded number stays in circulation for years.

Spotted a change we have missed? Email info@profitvana.com — we treat fee corrections as urgent.
