Margin = profit ÷ price. Markup = profit ÷ cost. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. For your true take-home on a marketplace, also subtract platform fees with a fee calculator.
Price your whole catalogue, not one product at a time
Checking margins one product at a time hides the bigger picture. When you can see every item side by side, the outliers jump out — the “bestseller” that barely breaks even, the quiet product carrying your whole store, the bundle that looks cheap but earns the most. This bulk calculator turns a pricing review that used to mean spreadsheet formulas into a paste-and-read job.
Enter each product with its cost and price, or paste your list straight from a spreadsheet or marketplace export. You get profit, profit margin %, and markup % for every row, plus totals for the whole catalogue: revenue, profit, and your average margin.
How to use it
- Type a product name, your cost, and your selling price into each row — or click Load example to see it in action.
- Have a list already? Click Paste / import CSV and paste rows as name, cost, price — copied straight from Excel, Google Sheets, or a store export.
- Hit Sort by margin to rank your products best to worst and spot what to reprice or drop.
- Use Export CSV to save the full breakdown for your records or your team.
Margin vs. markup — read both columns
Margin and markup describe the same profit from two angles, and mixing them up is a classic pricing mistake. A 50% markup on a $60 item gives a $90 price — but that is only a 33% margin, not 50%. The table shows both for every product so you can price off markup while still thinking in the margin you actually keep. For your real take-home on a marketplace, subtract selling fees with our platform fee calculators first, then use the net figure as your price here.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare margins for many products at once?+
Paste or type each product with its cost and price. The calculator works out the profit, profit margin %, and markup % for every row instantly, plus totals for your whole catalogue — no spreadsheet formulas needed.
Can I import my product list from a spreadsheet?+
Yes. Click “Paste / import CSV” and paste rows in the form name, cost, price — one product per line. Comma or tab separated both work, so you can copy straight from Excel, Google Sheets, or a Shopify/Etsy export. Up to 200 rows are imported at once.
What is the difference between margin and markup?+
Margin is profit as a percentage of the sale price; markup is profit as a percentage of the cost. A $40 profit on a $100 sale is a 40% margin but a 66.7% markup on a $60 cost. The table shows both for every product so you can price consistently.
Can I export the results?+
Yes. “Export CSV” downloads every product with its profit, margin %, and markup % so you can keep the analysis, share it, or drop it back into your own pricing sheet.
Does this account for marketplace fees?+
This tool compares margins from cost and price, which is ideal for your own pricing and catalogue review. To see your true take-home after eBay, Etsy, Amazon, or Shopify fees, use the matching platform fee calculator and put the net figure in as your price.
Is my product data uploaded anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is sent to a server or saved to an account. Your costs and prices stay on your device.
