Editorial policy
Last updated August 2026
People price real products against the numbers on this site. That is a responsibility, so this page states plainly who publishes Profitvana, how a fee gets onto a page, how often it is re-checked, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Who publishes Profitvana
Profitvana is published by Valdura LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17217831. You can verify that on the public register: Companies House record. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
Editorial work is done by the Profitvana Editorial Team— the in-house group that maintains the fee database, writes the guides, and signs off every rate change. We publish under a team byline on purpose: a fee page is not one person’s opinion, it is the output of a documented process that any of us can repeat and that the company stands behind. Where a page needs outside expertise — such as the religious rulings behind our zakat and nisab tools — we say so on the page and cite the authority we followed.
Where our expertise comes from
The team’s background is hands-on rather than academic: running cross-border e-commerce operations (entity setup, marketplace onboarding, international shipping and payments) and working with financial-market data. That is why the guides dwell on the costs that actually bite — the fee charged on the shipping you collect, the currency conversion spread hidden inside a “free” payout, the tax that the platform’s percentage is quietly applied to.
How a fee gets onto a page
- Read the primary source. The rate is taken from the platform’s own published fee schedule — eBay’s selling fees page, Etsy’s fee policy, PayPal’s merchant fee page for that specific country. Never from another blog, another calculator, or an AI model’s recollection.
- Record the evidence. The source URL and the date of the check are stored next to the rate in our fee database and printed on the calculator, so you can open the source and check our work.
- Model the real structure. Tiers, category rates, per-order flat fees, subscription discounts and country surcharges are modelled as they are actually charged, rather than flattened into one average percentage.
- Re-verify on a cycle. All 31 platforms are re-checked monthly, and immediately on any announced pricing change.
This is not theoretical. When we audited the whole database before launch we found and corrected nine outdated rates that had been repeated across the web — including a marketplace fee that most published articles still list at half its current level. Finding those is the point of the process.
Limits we state openly
- Your exact rate can differ by category, country, subscription tier, and seller status. Calculators show the standard published rate and let you adjust the variables that matter.
- Some platforms publish their current rate card only inside a logged-in seller dashboard. Where that is the case we say so on the page and show the last rate the platform published openly.
- Live currency, crypto, and metal prices come from established public data sources and refresh automatically; they are reference rates, not the dealer or bank price you will personally be quoted.
- Nothing here is financial, tax, or legal advice, and our scope is deliberately narrow: spot prices and published fees — no leverage, no derivatives.
Corrections
If a number is wrong, we want to know before you do. Email hello@profitvana.com with the page and the figure. We check it against the official schedule; if we are wrong we correct the page, refresh its verified date, and reflect the change everywhere that rate is used — the guides and comparisons read from the same database as the calculators, so a fix lands in one place and propagates.
Independence and funding
Profitvana is free and funded by display advertising. Advertisers get ad slots and nothing else: no advertiser can change a rate, a comparison, or which platform a calculator shows as cheaper, and we take no commission from the platforms we compare. There are no accounts, no paywalls, and the calculators run in your browser.
How we use AI
We use AI tooling for drafting support and code, never as a source of facts. No rate, threshold, or date on this site comes from a model’s memory — every one traces to a primary document, and a human signs off the page before it publishes.
