How TikTok Shop fees work
TikTok Shop charges one referral fee that already includes payment processing — there is no separate transaction charge. It is calculated on the customer payment (plus any platform discount) and excludes sales tax and shipping paid by the buyer to a carrier.
The published US rate is 6% for most categories, 5% for select fine-jewelry and pre-owned categories, and a promotional 3% for new sellers' first 30 days after an early first sale.

The referral fee includes payment processing, but the costs that usually matter more are optional: the creator/affiliate commission you set (commonly 10–20%), Fulfilled by TikTok logistics, and ads. This calculator lets you add creator commission and ad spend so you see the true net.
What happens to the fee if an order is refunded?+
TikTok refunds the referral fee minus a refund administration fee of 20% of the referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU. Creator commission on a refunded order is also reversed, but ad spend is not recoverable.
Is TikTok Shop cheaper than eBay or Etsy?+
On the referral fee alone, yes — 6% against eBay's ~13.6% and Etsy's ~10–11% all-in. But TikTok sales are usually driven by creator commission and ads, which push the real cost well past both. Compare the all-in number, not the headline rate.
