Frequently asked questions
How much does PayPal take per transaction?+
For US goods and services payments, PayPal charges 3.49% + $0.49. On a $100 payment the fee is about $3.98, so you receive $96.02.
Who pays the PayPal fee, sender or receiver?+
The receiver pays the fee. PayPal deducts it from the amount before it reaches your balance.
Can I avoid PayPal goods & services fees?+
No. Fees on goods & services payments cannot be avoided, and routing commercial payments through 'friends & family' violates PayPal terms and removes buyer and seller protection.
