Shopify Fees in Singapore (2026): High Rates, Tiny Plan Gaps

By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated August 2026

Singapore has the highest Shopify card rates of any market we cover and the smallest gaps between plans — one-tenth of a point per upgrade. That combination means the usual advice to upgrade for a better rate is simply wrong here. Here are the 2026 numbers.

What each plan costs

Prices in Singapore dollars; the yearly column is the effective monthly price paid annually.

Note the fixed S$0.50 on in-person rates — most Shopify markets charge no fixed fee at the counter, and Singapore does.

PlanMonthlyPaid yearlyOnline cardIn personThird-party fee
BasicS$39S$293.2% + S$0.503% + S$0.502%
GrowS$132S$993.1% + S$0.502.9% + S$0.501%
AdvancedS$531S$3993% + S$0.502.75% + S$0.500.6%

Upgrading for the rate never pays

Each step up buys one-tenth of a percentage point. Basic to Grow costs S$93 more a month for 0.1%, which needs S$93,000 in monthly card sales to break even. Grow to Advanced costs S$399 more for another 0.1% — S$399,000 a month.

Very few Singapore stores are anywhere near those numbers, and the ones that are will be negotiating directly. Treat the upper plans as feature purchases and nothing else; the arithmetic on the rate is not close.

The cheaper local method is behind a 2% wall

Singapore has a genuinely cheap domestic payment rail — PayNow, which Stripe prices at 1.3% against 3.4% for cards.

The catch for Shopify merchants is that reaching it through a third-party gateway triggers Shopify's own transaction fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced, on top of whatever that gateway charges. On Basic, a 1.3% method plus a 2% Shopify penalty costs 3.3% — no better than the 3.2% card rate you were avoiding.

On Grow the maths flips: 1.3% + 1% = 2.3% against 3.1% by card. So the local-rail saving only becomes real once you are already paying S$132 a month, which is its own break-even to work out.

A realistic month

A Basic-plan Singapore store doing S$15,000 across 200 orders on Shopify Payments: S$39 for the plan, S$480 in percentage fees, S$100 in fixed fees — S$619, or 4.1% of revenue.

That is the highest all-in cost of any Shopify market on this site, and it is driven by the card rate rather than the plan. Compare with Shopify fees in the UK, where the same store would pay roughly 2.5%, or run the numbers in the Shopify fee calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Shopify cost per month in Singapore?

S$39 for Basic, S$132 for Grow, and S$531 for Advanced, or an effective S$29, S$99, and S$399 when paid annually.

What does Shopify charge per sale in Singapore?

3.2% + S$0.50 on Basic, 3.1% + S$0.50 on Grow, and 3% + S$0.50 on Advanced for online card payments. In person it is 3%, 2.9%, and 2.75%, each also carrying the S$0.50 fixed fee.

Is it worth upgrading Shopify plans in Singapore?

Not for the rate. Each upgrade saves only 0.1%, so Basic to Grow breaks even at about S$93,000 in monthly card sales and Grow to Advanced at about S$399,000. Upgrade for features instead.

Can I use PayNow with Shopify in Singapore?

Through a third-party gateway, but Shopify then adds its own transaction fee — 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow. On Basic that cancels out the saving entirely; on Grow, 1.3% plus a 1% penalty still beats the 3.1% card rate.

Shopify fees in other countries

Shopify prices every market differently — the same sale can cost twice as much depending on where your business is registered. We verify each of these against Shopify’s own published fee page for that country:
