Payment processing: the fee that hurts small tiers

Processing is charged per successful payment. Annual memberships and the fixed fee

One payment a year instead of twelve means one $0.30 fixed fee instead of twelve. A $5-a-month patron billed annually at $60 costs $6.00 + $2.04 = $8.04 in fees, or 13.4%, against $11.40 (19%) for the same patron billed monthly. Offering an annual option is the single cheapest fee reduction available to a creator with low-priced tiers.

Payouts, conversion and tax
