How Much Does Cash App Take for Business? (2026 Fees)
By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated September 2026
The short answer: a Cash App Business account pays 2.6% + $0.15 on each payment received from a customer's Cash App — $2.75 on a $100 sale — and 3% on payments accepted with Tap to Pay. The flat 2.75% still quoted across comparison sites is the old rate; it is wrong in both parts, because the current fee has a lower percentage and a fixed component the old figure omits. Accounts are free to open, there is no monthly fee, and the only other cost is the optional instant deposit to your bank.
The business fee
Cash App's help page lists two processing fees for business accounts: 2.6% + $0.15 on each payment you receive from a customer's Cash App account, and 3% on each payment accepted via Tap to Pay. Both are deducted before the money reaches your balance, and the fee on any payment is visible in the Activity tab. Personal accounts pay nothing to receive money, but using one for sales is against Cash App's terms and forfeits business features.
| Payment | Fee | Charged to |
|---|---|---|
| From a customer's Cash App to your business account | 2.6% + $0.15 | Seller |
| Tap to Pay (contactless card) | 3% | Seller |
| Account opening / monthly | $0 | — |
| Standard deposit to bank | $0 | — |
| Instant deposit to bank or card | Fee depends on deposit speed | Seller |
Worked examples: where the $0.15 shows
The fixed fee is small, but on a $10 payment it lifts the effective rate to 4.1%. By $100 the rate is 2.75% — which is, coincidentally, the old flat figure, and probably why the old number survived so long: on a $100 payment the two schedules cost exactly the same. Below $100 the new schedule costs more; above it, less.
| Payment received | Fee (2.6% + $0.15) | Effective rate | Old flat 2.75% would have been |
|---|---|---|---|
| $10 | $0.41 | 4.1% | $0.28 |
| $50 | $1.45 | 2.9% | $1.38 |
| $100 | $2.75 | 2.75% | $2.75 |
| $500 | $13.15 | 2.63% | $13.75 |
| $1,000 | $26.15 | 2.62% | $27.50 |
Getting the money out
Standard deposits to a linked bank are free and arrive in one to three business days. Instant deposits carry a fee that depends on the deposit speed and amount, which Cash App shows at the moment you choose it. For a business moving money out daily, the instant fee can exceed the processing fee itself; batching deposits weekly keeps it at zero.
Cash App against Venmo, Square and PayPal
Cash App's parent is Block, which also owns Square, and the rates line up: Cash App's 2.6% + $0.15 is exactly Square's in-person tap rate. Venmo is cheaper at 1.9% + $0.10; PayPal Checkout is dearer at 3.49% + $0.49. Like Venmo, Cash App only works when the buyer pays from the app, which makes it a peer-to-peer and in-person tool rather than a checkout replacement. Run your numbers in the Cash App fee calculator and compare with Venmo and Square.
| $100 received | Fee |
|---|---|
| Venmo business profile | $2.00 |
| Cash App Business | $2.75 |
| Square in person | $2.75 |
| Cash App Tap to Pay | $3.00 |
| PayPal Checkout | $3.98 |
Frequently asked questions
How much does Cash App take from a $100 business payment?
$2.75 — 2.6% plus a $0.15 fixed fee — leaving $97.25. A $100 payment taken with Tap to Pay costs $3.00.
Is the Cash App business fee 2.75%?
Not any more. Cash App's published business rate is 2.6% + $0.15 per payment. The flat 2.75% is an older figure that many comparison sites still repeat; it only matches the current fee on a payment of exactly $100.
Is Cash App free for personal use?
Receiving money on a personal account is free, but selling through a personal account is against Cash App's terms. Business sales require a Cash App Business account with the 2.6% + $0.15 fee.
Does Cash App charge to move money to my bank?
Standard deposits are free. Instant deposits carry a fee that depends on the speed and amount, shown before you confirm.
