How to Reduce Your Etsy Fees (2026)

By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated May 2026

Etsy's fees stack up: a listing fee, a transaction fee, and payment processing — usually around 10–11% in total. You cannot avoid them entirely, but you can stop them eating your margin. Here is how.

Know exactly what Etsy charges

Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item plus shipping, and payment processing of about 3% + $0.25 in the US. Knowing the breakdown is the first step to managing it — run your numbers in our Etsy fee calculator.

Watch out for Offsite Ads

If Etsy advertises your listing offsite and it leads to a sale, it adds a 12–15% Offsite Ads fee on top. Shops under a revenue threshold can opt out; larger shops cannot. This single fee can dwarf the others, so factor it in.

Price to cover the fees

The most reliable win is pricing correctly. Build the ~11% fee (and your costs) into your price so every sale stays profitable. See our guide on pricing products to cover fees for the exact formula.

Reduce per-listing waste

Each renewal costs another $0.20 listing fee. Use quantity listings for multiples, retire items that never sell, and bundle where it makes sense to get more value from each listing fee.
