How Much Does eBay Take Per Sale? (2026)
By the Profitvana Editorial Team · Updated May 2026
If you sell on eBay, the big question is simple: how much does eBay actually take? Here is the full breakdown for 2026.
The final value fee
eBay's main charge is the final value fee — about 13.6% of the total the buyer pays (item price plus shipping) for sellers without a store. This already includes payment processing, so there is no separate PayPal-style fee anymore.
The per-order fee
On top of the percentage, eBay adds a small per-order fee: $0.30 for orders of $10 or less, and $0.40 for orders over $10.
A worked example
Say you sell an item for $100 with free shipping. eBay takes 13.6% ($13.60) plus the $0.40 per-order fee = $14.00 total. You keep $86.00 before your own item and shipping costs.

Can you pay less?
Yes — an eBay Store subscription lowers the final value rate, and Top Rated Seller status can earn a discount. See our guide on reducing eBay fees.
