How Much Does Bonanza Take? (2026 Fees — Not 3.5% Any More)

The short answer: since 1 May 2025 Bonanza takes a minimum of 11% of the Final Offer Value — the item price plus any shipping you charge above $10 — plus a $0.25 transaction fee if you do not hold a membership subscription. That is $11.25 on a $100 sale. The 3.5% 'low fee' that made Bonanza's reputation, and that most fee guides still quote, is the pre-2025 schedule; we carried it ourselves until this month's verification pass caught the change on Bonanza's own pricing page. Here is the current structure, including the advertising levels that push the rate to 30% and the reduced 1.5% above $4,000.

The fee schedule since 1 May 2025

Bonanza's help centre states the change plainly: the Final Value Fee 'will increase to a minimum of 11%', applied automatically. The fee is calculated on the Final Offer Value (FOV), which Bonanza defines as the amount the buyer paid for the item plus any portion of the shipping charge above $10 — so a $15 item with $12 shipping has a $17 FOV. The minimum fee per sale is $0.50.

Two other lines apply. Sellers without an active membership subscription pay a $0.25 transaction fee on every completed sale. And for orders over $4,000, the amount above $4,000 is charged a flat 1.5% rather than the full rate — Bonanza's own example puts a $5,000 sale at $440 + $15 = $455.

Advertising levels: the rate is yours to raise

Bonanza's advertising programme is opt-in and sets your Final Value Fee: choose a higher percentage and Bonanza spends more to bring buyers from Google Shopping, eBay and its own channels. The range is 11% to 30% of FOV. Sales you drive through your own referral link earn the full Final Value Fee back as Bonanza Ads credit, which is the one route to a genuinely low effective rate. Sellers on the Bonanza Promotions programme are charged on the full base price even above $4,000.

Why every guide still says 3.5%

For a decade Bonanza's pitch was the cheapest final value fee in mainstream resale — 3.5% base, with advertising tiers at 9% to 19%. The May 2025 change more than tripled the base rate, and the platform's own support site sat behind a bot-protection wall for much of 2026, which is likely why so few third-party pages caught it. Bonanza against eBay now

At 11% + $0.25, Bonanza is no longer meaningfully cheaper than eBay's 13.6% + $0.40 in most categories, and it is more expensive than eBay in the categories eBay discounts (electronics at 9%, sneakers at 8%).
