About converting USD to CNY

This page shows the live mid-market exchange rate between the US Dollar (USD) and the Chinese Yuan (CNY). This rate floats, so it can move from day to day with interest rates, inflation, and market sentiment — which is why we refresh it hourly.

About the Chinese Yuan (CNY)

The renminbi is not freely floating — the People's Bank of China publishes a daily central parity rate, and onshore trading is limited to a band around that fixing. There is also a separate offshore rate (CNH) that trades more freely.

For importers and dropshippers paying Chinese suppliers (AliExpress, 1688, Alibaba), the USD/CNY rate feeds directly into product cost, so even the managed band's small moves affect margins at scale.

Issued by the People's Bank of China. The yuan is managed against a basket: the PBoC sets a daily fixing and the rate trades within a ±2% band around it.
